Some people remember faces. I remember animals .. and usually their names, too.
My love for animals started as far back as I can remember. It was never something I was taught or encouraged to pursue, it was simply part of who I was. I've always been fascinated by animals, drawn to them, and happiest when I'm caring for them.
I started caring for animals professionally at just 12 years old, when I began riding my bike to Treehouse Animal Clinic in Atlanta to help care for the pets staying there. Before long, I was also walking, bathing, and pet-sitting for pets throughout my neighborhood.
And that love followed me everywhere.
I took my Great Dane with me to University of Alabama, I cared for animals while serving in the Peace Corps in Togo, West Africa, and later rescued two street dogs while living in Guatemala. Wherever I've lived, animals have somehow always found their way into my life.
I've explored many careers along the way, but I eventually realized that the part of my life that has always felt the most natural to me is simply being with animals .. getting to know their personalities, earning their trust, making them comfortable, and watching them relax and be completely themselves.
What began as a childhood obsession has grown into a lifelong passion for animal care and hospitality. After years of dreaming about creating a special place for pets, I've finally found the place to call home in the beautiful North Georgia mountains.
